My flagship end-to-end product. A solo-built ride-sharing platform for Lagos, connecting real-time infrastructure, ride matching, payments, and the rider experience.

Inside the build

Nine Go microservices behind Kong. Driver and rider location pipelines over MQTT / EMQX and Kafka; PostGIS, OSRM, Valhalla, and Tile38 for routing and proximity. Paystack payments, Firebase authentication, and a simulator for testing ride matching without a fleet on the road.

Built the responsive engineering and construction website with service breakdowns, a project gallery, consultation booking, and a WhatsApp inquiry flow. The visual language combines architectural typography, technical details, and client-supplied project photography.

A little content hub with a very useful trick: it works without the internet. Publish from a laptop and relay updates to phones on the same Wi-Fi.

A local-first Electron prototype with a TypeScript control panel, Fastify server, SQLite persistence, and WebSockets for instant updates. Secure IPC connects the desktop shell to local operations.

Logo family, brand kit, catalogue synchronization, validation, and WhatsApp-assisted checkout. A secure Electron shell uses context isolation, sandboxing, restricted navigation, and system-browser handoff. Online payments remain gated on fulfilment and Paystack readiness.

Model access with some boundaries. A multi-tenant LLM gateway with virtual keys, per-user budgets, and spend tracking.

LiteLLM in Docker behind Nginx, with Let’s Encrypt automation and Postgres-backed spend tracking. Per-user model allowlists and daily-resetting budgets, plus upstream header handling for Azure AI Foundry. Built from zero to a public HTTPS endpoint in 48 hours.

I’m Olaiya Joseph Oniya, an independent software engineer building since 2019. My work spans Go services, TypeScript and Electron applications, Flutter clients, and the websites that introduce them.

With TagRides, I’ve owned the path from real-time infrastructure to the rider experience. With client work, I bring that same attention to the details that make a business easier to understand and a product easier to use.
